Privacy Policy

Short version: Money Tracker does not sell your data and never transmits the contents of your records: amounts, descriptions, categories and tags. Everything you enter stays on your device and, only if you choose to use backup, in your own personal iCloud account. The app collects only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports via Yandex AppMetrica. No advertising.

What data the app stores

Money Tracker stores the following information locally on your device, inside the app’s private storage:

transactions you add: amount, currency, category, optional description, date, tags;
categories and tags you create;
recurring entries and savings goals, including deposit history;
app settings: language, appearance and theme, currency, month start day and other preferences.

This data is never sent to us or to any third party. Money Tracker does not communicate with any backend server of ours. The only data that leaves the device is the anonymous analytics described below.

iCloud backup (optional)

If you save a backup to iCloud manually or turn on monthly auto-backup in Settings, the app writes the backup file directly into your own iCloud Drive container using Apple’s standard iCloud Documents service. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple’s privacy policy, and is never accessible to us.

You can choose not to use this feature, turn off auto-backup and delete the backup file from the Files app at any time.

Exporting your data

You can export your data at any time as an XML, CSV or PDF file using the system share sheet and “Save to Files”. You choose where the file goes: your device, iCloud Drive or any other storage provider you have installed. We do not see or receive a copy of these files.

Face ID and Touch ID

If you enable the optional app lock, Money Tracker uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework to verify your identity with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Authentication happens entirely on-device via Apple’s Secure Enclave; the app never receives or stores any biometric data.

Analytics and crash reports

Money Tracker uses Yandex AppMetrica (provided by YANDEX LLC) to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which help us find bugs and understand which features are useful. This includes:

which screens are opened and which features are used (for example, adding a transaction, import and export and whether they succeeded);
app settings: theme, appearance, language, currency;
approximate database size in ranges, for example “1k–10k transactions”;
crash and error reports;
technical device data: device model, iOS version, app version, an app-specific device identifier, approximate region.

Money Tracker never sends amounts, descriptions, category, tag or goal names, or any other contents of your records. The data is not used for advertising and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. AppMetrica terms: yandex.com/legal/appmetrica_sdk_agreement.

Money Tracker contains no advertising networks.

Children’s privacy

Money Tracker does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children: records stay on-device or in the user’s own iCloud account, and analytics is anonymous.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new “last updated” date.
